QUEER NATURE
https://biosensing-blog.tumblr.com/post/22692066349/implantes-de-cloroplastos-en-los-humanos
The first time I came across these ideas was through my research on photosynthesis and chloroplasts. Around 2012, I was researching Biosensing Fotosintethica and documenting this process on my blog, when I discovered Elysia chlorotica — an organism that seemed to blur the boundary between plant and animal by incorporating chloroplasts into its own body.
This discovery opened a whole field of questions for me. I became fascinated by this strange form of symbiosis: an animal that photosynthesises, a body that incorporates another organism’s capacity to live and metabolise.
I started looking for connections and wrote Queer Nature into the search bar. To my surprise, I found Karen Barad’s text with the same title. Around the same time, I began following another line of thought: what if chloroplasts could be inserted into human bodies? I explored this question through my Biosensing research and blog documentation, following connections between bioengineering, science fiction and scientific research.
These were not questions I was trying to answer scientifically. I was interested in what happened when scientific knowledge became a material for speculation — when a biological fact could open a fictional, political or embodied possibility.
This research became a way of thinking about bodies as porous and unstable, and about matter as something that could generate new realities rather than simply be observed or represented.
From 2012 onwards, I began connecting these ideas to biohacking, queer theory and what I was then calling “research as a capacity to perform reality.” I was already thinking about research as something that does not simply describe the world, but participates in making it.
I mapped these connections in a large schematic: a constellation of microorganisms, chloroplasts, bodies, technology, queer nature, biohacking and speculation. Looking back, it was one of the first maps of the questions that would continue to run through my practice.

guiada por la intuición y viajando a través de la net con búsquedas tales como “cloroplast insertion into humans” me he encontrado con este maravilloso link http://scienceblogs.com/webeasties/2011/05/artificial_engineerable_animal.php

Oryx and Crake" by Margaret Atwood, describes a world in which bioengineering has created a group of people with photosynthetic pigments in their skin.
